TI Flats on JO5-With 35" scale, what works best JF34, or JF36?

Sign in to disble this ad
That's my question. Which length is a better fit.
Anyone use these on there Lakland 5, or any 35" scale bass? The JF365 are a lighter gauge than the JF345 set, and I like the gauges of the JF345 set, but are they long enough? I guess I would rather use the through body option on my JO, so which set would fit the best. Seems they should make a JF35 set. Unless they make the 36" for 35" scale basses.
Another question, Does anyone know if you can buy single TI flats for a B string? 135 or 136?

i've got a 55-01, i think for strings they're pretty close
345's fit through the bridge
365's through the body
to my ear the 345's had a tiny bit less hi end and little more "thump" than the 365's
both very good

Good, that's what I was hoping to hear. Thanks for your input. I didn't think the 345's would fit through the body. I've more or less become an exclusive TI string fan. I only wish I could find singles, but I don't think they make them.

Thanks again man............... really, I totally forgot about that site... The singles cost a bit more, but it's good to know they are available. Oh yeah, the superalloys are the only nickel wound string I've ever heard that don't sound totally nickel. An excellent string.

I have used 34" TI super alloys and flats on my 35" scale Lakland with success, strung through the bridge (not through the body). Great strings.

There's really nothing that can compare to them. Superalloys and jazz flats. I have one bass with each. That's all I need.

I've tried them all, (well, just about) and the TI Superalloys are by far the best strings I have ever used. They may not be for everyone, but they surely are for me. This link will give you usable string lengths for different TI's.

I know what you mean, I like the way you can bend them just right, and they have this sort of supple feel. I think it's spelled like that maybe suple, ? hell I don't know. All I do know is they aren't as noisey, they don't chew up frets, and they sound like a SS string sometimes. The superalloy have the same feel as the jazz flats to me, the way they sustain and the way they bend. That chart is ok, but some of it is hard to read. I think I have my sizes down now. Much appreciated.
