Hehe, why do you think they call them "jazz flats" and show a picture of a jazz bass on the package?

Those strings were designed with a jazz bass in mind. Many people really love them on a P-bass, but I find that combination to be a little too mid-heavy, while the relative scoop of a jazz bass profile brings out the best from these strings.
One more thing: Those strings are VERY low tension, especially for flatwounds, and might not be the best choice if you primarily slap.
