TI Jazz rounds

Sign in to disble this ad
I just got a bass yesterday strung with TI Jazz rounds and i'm digging their tight wrap with kind of a flat feel to them, and makes the neck feel super fast and so easy that when i went to do slides, i overshot the intended fret. I've played rounds for years, but now i'm rethinking using these on some of my basses. It will just take a little playing time to get use to them. They almost feel like they are coated strings like Elixirs. Are they? Anyone else out there using them?

I have a set that should arrive tomorrow. I was wondering if you were able to have a low action with these strings.

I used them on a fretless and wasn't too excited about their timbre. I do agree that they are very comfortable and about the right tension, but they lacked a certain luster in their sound IMO.

The action on this bass is to my liking and set pretty low,
however these strings are a little thinner guage than im use to as well. E .089, A .068, D .051, G .043
I will really be able to tell better at tomorrow night's practice,
if they don't work out i've got a new set of super slinky's
waiting too be installed.

I have a set of these on a warwick corvette, just ordered myself a B string to complete it. Super low tension, which makes slapping and digging in almost too easy - you'll need to control yourself if you're used to much thicker strings. Also, playing at home at low volumes they can seem not to have much bottom end punch. However, I recently used them at a gig for the first time and this translated into an awesome, tight-sounding bass with really great, mildly aggressive mids and present but controllable highs. Great strings for funk and jazz, and pretty versatile too.

Has anyone else notciedthat the winding on the g and a strings seem thinner/closer together, and slightly 'slanted' ???
