TI Jazz Rounds compared to TI Super Alloys

Sign in to disble this ad
I tried searching for this comparrison but couldn't find any suficient answer.

Preface:
I bought Lokire's Custom Stambaugh 6 and it had TI Jazz Rounds. WOW! These are THE string. My other Stambaugh is 36" scale though. I don't think they will squeak on there. But TI makes the Super Alloys in 36".

Question:
How much different sounding are these strings?

Why didn't anyone ever tell me bossa nova sounded so good?

Pretty much nothing alike, the Superalloys are regular tension, and sound more aggressive, they are good, just way different.

You can get the Jazz Rounds in a 36" scale:

Only the 4-string set though. I've never seen a 36" 6-string set, but you might be able to special order one. Or you might be able to carefully cut back some of the silk on the C-string. Seems like it has enough length to make it to 36" ok. Not the B though...

And yes, the TI Jazz Rounds esentially changed my life. I don't know what I would do without them now

Yeah, I know what you mean. Amazing strings...I've been looking for this feel and sound for ages. They really compliment your Stambaugh as if they were made for it. BTW: That Stammie is amazing. That is singlehandedly the best bass I have ever played.

I emailed TI about a 36" 6 string set. We'll see what they say. Maybe I'll try the Flat 5 set and figure something out with the C. The other bass needs to mellow out a lot.
