TI Jazz Rounds and SIT Silencers?

Sign in to disble this ad
I LOVE the tone of TI Jazz Rounds, but the tension is too low for me. I like to dig in a bit, and even with moderate action, they "bottom" out. I've tried a bunch of other nickels, but none have that tone and dynamics. I've yet to try SIT Silencers, but they read as tho' they may be similar. Anyone compared them?

try the TI Powerbass if the jazz rounds aren't high enough tension...They're a hex core which usually leads to higher tension....I had a set on a bass I bought...I personally found the tension too high for my taste...I prefer lighter tension strings

You may also want to consider TI SuperAlloys. IMO, they sound similar to Jazz Rounds, but with higher tension.

Silencers sound nothing like Jazz Rounds.
I've used both.
Did not like Silencers at all.
May have been a bad set?
They sounded to muted to me.
