TI lovers: Curiously wondering what Thomastik Infeld Jazz Flats don't sound good on?

Just wondering what TI Jazz Flats don't sound good on? (For that matter what do you prefer them on?) I know some don't like them at all, so I'm not interested in that perspective. I know some of us really love them and I'm curious about basses where they just were not a good fit and why that was.

I tried a set on a G&L L2000 once and thought it was a little too mid heavy. L2ks tend to have plenty of mids anyway so that really didn't need any help. I haven't found anything that sounds better on a Pbass and they sound good on a Jazz as well. Haven't tried them on a MMSR 4 or 5 but who knows.

I also tried TI jazz flats on my L2000 and didn't like the outcome. I then put them on my p/j fretless parts bass and loved them

Same here... I didn't care for my TI's until I moved them from my L2K to my darkstar'd p. I then switched to Lakland flats in my L2K, loved them both.

I have 2 Stingrays. One is pre-Ernie Ball and the TI's really brought out something weird in the midrange. I moved them to the Ernie Ball where they sound gorgeous. The pre-EB likes Sadowsky flats.

Several TI Suers have reported that they sound very McCartneylike on a 4003.

i loved them on my SB1 and SB2, and hated them on my Streamer Stage 2 and Dingwall Super P. I heard them on a Stingray and they just didn't work (imho). for me they seemed to work best on passive basses.

I have 'em on all of my electric basses. But I read a post from Dingwall on BassGear managazine's website in which he said he doesn't recommend TI flats on Dingwalls.

TI flats sounds great in almost everything well unless you'll need a thumpier flats which i'd prefer to DR, GHS or LaBellas.. or maybe in situations where you'll need rounds for cutting highs

To be completely honest, I really don't like them at all on my '08 MIA P. They are just "blah" at best. I think it is the pup.... it's just too tame. My SB1 and 2 are both sporting TIJF's, and they sound awesome. I like them on the L2K as well...... I believe they sound best on basses sporting high output pups..... but no matter what bass you put them on, it's key to make sure they are thoroughly broken in before making a final judgement.

i didn't think they were that hot on my Fender P bass Plus, or on my G and l fretless l2500. However, they absolutely KILL on my Sadowsky m5-24.

Thus far I've liked them best on Pbasses (even a '55)--maple or RW--it makes no difference.
