Thanks it is top loading but I need to make sure before I buy them. Sort of strange that they don't list the usable length of them.....t

JF346

Don't know if this helps, but I have a set of TI JF346 Jazz Bass flats on my 6 string 35 inch scale Skjold. It has a Hipshot bridge.

Not sure if the 346 desination means the flats have the same speaking length as the EB.

I can measure if you want me to.

Measurements

String length from the head (the round thingey that holds the string in the bridge slot) to the silk wrapping at the peg end of the string:

In inches

B 36.75
E 36.75
A 37.50
D 37.75
G 37.50
C 37.50

(The string slopes down into the bridge slots, but I measured from the top of bridge slots above the head since my tape isn't narrow enough to fit into the slots. Too lazy to loosen the strings so I could take them out of the slots. )

You could try contacting TI and asking for measurements - but mine should be accurate within 1/8 inch.

Good luck,

RJM

Close on the B and E

Close, but the silk wrapping is past the nut and zero fret.

B 1/2 to zero fret and 3/16 to nut

E 9/16 to zero fret and 1/4 to nut

Enough so they work.

Like the tone of the Jazz Flats on the Skjold - more resonance than the RotoSound Nylon Tapewounds I had on there. I have the low mids turned up all the way and my SM900 EQ flat and I get a archtop electric guitar like sound - which is just what I am after. The Elexer NanoWebs I had on had a deep sound which was close to what I was after, but not quite.

Good Luck

RJM
