Tight strings on Spector

Sign in to disble this ad
Hello, I'm from Argentina (that's why my english sucks). I own a Spector Legend 5 and the first time I played it, it was very comfortable. After 2 or 3 weeks, the strings started to be tight and hard to play, so I decided to change them and put a set of 0.40's. A week later I found the same problem. Strings became more uncomfotable and tight. The bass is a 35'', so that could make the strings be tighter, but this happens a few weeks after the change of strings.
Thanks

do you play with an amp or not? seems like the strings are losing their "zing" making you play harder and harder as the strings are going deader and deader.

your english is fine, you should see how kids write in my country nowadays

... yes, I'm using an amp. I think that it could be that I was used to my previous Ibanez sr300dx, and now with a 35'' I feel the change. But with a longer scale strings are tighter only when you play them opened (EDAG) or at any position? (frets). What can I do to reduce tension? If the neck is too straight, that affects the tension?
