His new bass sound to me sounds like dull flat wounds, the older stuff and Rage sounds different/better.
Listen to when he takes all the effects/amps out and you can hear his plain direct sound, it sounds like a flat wound to me.

He uses rounds, but he's got a really light B, I think around a .120, and they may be Rotosound.

Ernie Ball Slinkies 50-110 or 50-105 for sure.

Im not sure about th 5 string

Yup, Ernie Ball Slinky's rounds 110-50.

I actually used those exact strings on my Maverick(still strung with them actually), they're a bit expensive but sound awsome. The only complaint I would have it that they lost their tonality pretty fast.

I'm contemplating getting a set for my new Warwick Corvette $$ seeing as the complementary Black Label set of Warwick strings I got are also losing their tonality. Either Ernie Balls or DR's for me next...
