Smile Time for change

I have an RBX374 that I've had for 4 years now, and I am still using the factory strings that came with it. Needless to say, the strings needed to be changed for a long while now but I am just very fond of my bass as a whole I stubbornly stuck with it through and through. I'm now currently string hunting but I have a few questions.

The silk wrap on the strings that came with mine are black and I love the look of it on my bass. I was wondering what brand of strings are suitable for this bass with black wraps? Preferably flatwounds for less finger noise.

Also, when I went to a music store there was a fretless bass with black strings, apparently Fender tapewounds. I'm not familiar with them, but I've heard nylon tapewounds are great with fretless but I was wondering how tapewounds are with fretted basses? Black strings look attractive and wouldn't mind giving it a go, but I'd like some feedback first.

Thanks.

Fender makes the 7250 strings which has black silk on thier's. Really good sounding, long lasting, and not particularly expensive. GHS Pressurewounds also have black wraps, and since they are compressed they are easy on a fretless bass. Thier sound is somewhere between a round and flat.
As for tapewounds, I have used both the LaBellas and the Fender 9120s. The Fenders are less expensive and are lower tensioned than the LaBellas. Both have the really deep sound to them. The LaBellas are smoother feeling than the Fenders, although the Fenders are not rough on your fingers. I like both sets but would probably go with the Fenders the next time I go that route.
GHS makes a Tapewound set but I have yet to try them out, as well as Rotosound, which have received positive reviews and comments here.
Best of luck no matter what you decide.
