Question TI's for DGCF tuning?

Sign in to disble this ad
Been thinking about using TI jazz rounds for tuning Up to D-G-C-F from B-E-A-D. That's right, putting the B-E-A-D on a four string and tuning up tp D-G-C-F. I like that tuning and think the TI's gauge would be about right and the (normally tuned) low tension would end up being reasonable. I tried tuning the regular four string set up to G-C-F-Bflat to get a feel for the tension. It was a little tight but not bad. Anyone else try this with TI's or anything else?

Well, that was 5 years ago. I never tried it because I moved a half-step up in tuning. I may still try it with TI flats though but am guessing the tension would be too high.
