Since I put a new neck on my parts PJ, I can finally use the DR roundwounds I want on it. Excessive fretware had made using rounds on it very problematic.

So, I put TI flats back on my active P Lyte Deluxe. This bass sounds great with these strings.

Now I have the 55-105 set of Chromes on the Squire P bass, TI Jazz Flats on the Deluxe PJ and DR Hi-Beams on the parts PJ. Should be good for a while.

Care to explain this one a little further? I've only ever heard of the problem happening with stainless steel strings (usually Rotosound) and Warwick basses.

I was wanting to use steel rounds and they seemed to be buzzy and lots of rattle. I had to use nickle rounds instead.

So then it wasn't a matter of fret wear and was just a matter of having improper tension/too much flexibility/a need for a setup. That's relieving.
