Truly custom made strings?

Sign in to disble this ad
Anyone know if any string manufacturer will make a truly custom string set? The price isn't a huge concern. I just sent an e-mail to Thomastik-Infeld, not that I expect them to do it. Basically, I want a short-scale nylon-core string with a nickel flatwound wrapping. Like a cross between TI Acousticores and TI Jazz Flats.

Am I dreaming?

hmmm...nylon core inside, and metal on the outside ???

I have no idea about that

But I've heard of people, that are real close friends with local people in their area that manufacture strings....

looks like, your best bet is to start shaking a lot of hands and breaking out the pocket book

TI Acousticores are nylon on the inside and metal (bronze) on the out. Same with lots of their upright bass strings. Nylon cores, with various metal wrappings.
