Okay. I currently use Fender Stainless 7350s. Theyre pretty bright, but they dont cut through as much as i'd like. i play a 2005 Fender jazz with a BAII bridge.
I also would like to use light gauge strings too.
Im thinking of using some Rotosound 66 45-100s or maybe something else... i dunno, all ive ever used were fender stainless 7350s.
could you people help me please? |

i use the rotosound 45-100 stainless steels, and i love their tone. more growly and punchy than bright, i'd say, but..... try them!

Many people here dig Hi Beams when they've hit the 2 month mark. That's like a "sweetspot." I don't think you can go wrong with ANY DR string. They always sound awesome and have stupidly long life. Hi Beams get better with age.
I would avoid Blue Steels like the plague. They start out really bright, but then a week later become the muddiest strings in the world. Terrible strings.

I had a set on one of my basses & they were so zinging, that I had to relearn how to play that bass,,, just to avoid the excessive finger transfer. Keep in mind, I dont have that problem w/ any of my other basses, or strings. so.... I just kept the SIT's on, waiting for them to mellow... a year later, they never did. They just stopped intonating properly.
I've settled on SS DR Hi Beams, & they're substantially mellower than the SIT SS Rock Brights. But, I'd back up other things Dincrest said about the DR's.
Never bothered w/ Dean Markley's so, I cant help you there. |

I'd also add that I've always noticed a pretty blatant inconsistency of tone across strings with Blue Steels, whereas with other brands (Like the DR's) the tones just "flow" between the G all the down to the B (if any of that makes ANY sense at all. lol) |

what?
i second the DRs, actually. they rock. i've used blue steels once, and they were bright... but i like the way a string deadens. my faves for this are the rotos. they're just.... growly.
but DR makes a great string.

Terrible strings. | I dont see why so many ppl are complaining about the bluesteels, ive had them for a month and they still sound new. I jammed with my band yesterday only and they even complimented my tone, it just cuts through the guitars like butter without sounding too raspy |
