UK Bassists - I need your old string packaging

Sign in to disble this ad
Hi

An odd request I know, but if anyone in the UK has any old string packaging (ernie ball/ rotosound preferred) then would you be able to send it to me?

I want the paper sleeves for use in nut shimming material, and as I play D'addario strings (comes in a thin plastic bag) I never have the paper. I also dont fancy paying £18 for some new strings just for the paper as I am really happy with my D'addario sound.

I can send stamped addressed enveloped out so it wont cost you a thing.

Thanks

Is there something special about this paper? Will nothing else do?

Done, and thanks.

For general information, famed guitar tech Dan Erlewine suggests using them with superglue as they absorb the glue, and when dry form a solid, hard material attached the nut like no tomorrow. When you use standard paper, it just wants to rip and tear, not too good. Using a dense material such as this increases the tonal resonance of the nut over say a beer can.

Thanks for the beer can tip though, I shall remember that for my ibanez guitar!
