Using 2 diferent sets of strings

Would using two diferent sets of strings on the same bass be a bad idea?
For example, using deeper, Warmer strings (like Slinkys) for the low strings and Brighter Strings (Rotosounds, ect...) for the D and the G.

Many people do it, but the differences can be too noticeable sometimes. If you dig it, then do it. Rules are for trendy people.
