Just wondering if anyne either knows what strings he uses for that insane slap tone, or what strings would come best to approximating?

While we are on the topic, I bet he also uses thin strings for tapping. 'Any idea exactly what he uses though?

Check out his website. He uses his fodera signature strings or D'addario xl220.
