I'll re-string my bass with those 1 week old D'Addario which I replaced with Dunlop Nickel.

Wooten plays D’Addario EXL220-5 Nickel Wound 5-String Bass Super Light strings and says: “I love and trust D’Addario strings. Their sound is quick, clear and direct! And they last a long time!”

Whatever pays the bills, I guess.

Methinks the strings on the basses he actually plays don't have colored ball ends

It's useless to try and emulate Mr. Wooten. He has eight hands. You don't.

I see over in the other thread that Jason from Fodera said they are no longer making signature string sets. I guess Victor needs to get free strings from somewhere!

Well, they have stepped up their game. I used to hate them! Worst strings I ever used! Last year had to buy new strings and all the store had was D'Addarios XL Brights so I bit the bullet!

And wow! I was pleasantly surprised. Still not the perfect string for me but they do the job and are affordable ($16 for a 4 string set at Best Buy).

He was actually endorsing D'Addario years ago - I wasn't aware that he'd ever switched to another company. Then again, I don't generally pay much attention to who's using what strings...

I personally don't. I posted it because some people do care.

Victor can make any set or bass sound good. its is what's in the heart, mind and hands. I may be a gear homo, but I never forget where music comes from first and foremost.

Good thing I have been using D'Addairios for years now; I see victor finally took notice of my awesomeness
