Vintage Rotosound find.

So I dropped in a local music store the other day to check out the string selection and found this rather old set of tru bass rs88's.
Now I'm trying to decide if I want to use them or just keep them for the nostalgia. (I like to collect things like this)
Also I'm kinda wondering what the possibility of them being bad is,
I know old strings can get corroded, although on the other hand I've played flats from the 60's before that still sounded good so who knows.

Anyways what would you do, use them or hang 'em on the wall?
Also if any of you have any idea of what year/years these are from that would be awesome, being 26 years old I really haven't a clue, I just know they look friggen old.

Ah memories of that ol' black white and orange! (sigh) I used Rotos with this packaging back in the early 70's.I always used Swing Bass tho'.So they're at least 35 to 40 years old.

If you open the flap, there should be a date on them:

I found these recently:

Sweet!
So I looked in side the flap, no date, then I noticed a little card inside it has warranty information printed on it and on the back there's the date 11/77.
thanks guys!

The bass I would probably put them on has a 72 fretless neck on it does that count?
