Want to try D'Addario Chrome flatwounds ... free?

I bought a set of them 3 weeks ago to try them and after a week on my P bass I've decided I don't like them.

They're too mid-rangy for my taste and I don't like the feel either.

Long Scale 45-100: .045 .065 .080 .100

Claim them with the first reply below then PM me your mailing address (USA please) and I'll send them out once my next set of GHS arrive from bassstringsonline.com. Can't beat that.

Unless you played a lot of hours during that week you havn't heard them as they sound for the majority of their useable life. The slightly edgy midrange smooths right out after time and the strings also start to feel smoother and perhaps more like you were expecting from flats.
The bottom end stays tight yet full and the highs only mellow a little but once they get past the fairly short breaking in stage they stay consistent for a lot longer than any of the rounds I've ever used.
I love the sound of brand new chromes and fender 9050's and wish that they didn't lose that midrange character.
I'm talking about a quite noticable rather than a radical difference here but I think that you may like them if you gave them more time.

I'm not a fan of that midrange-on-top-of-midrange Chromes-on-a-P sound. I even slapped a well-worn set from my J onto the P to see if age made a difference to me there, and it did not. Chromes on a J are another story...now there's a combo that sounds great to my ears.
