warwick Bass string on Warwick bass?

Sign in to disble this ad
Just took a set of Rotosound Stainless String out on my warwick bass since they sound is really bad and low volume too (consider they are 6 month old). First set of string on my warwick bass.

Got a set of Warwick Black Label string out (they have only been used 3 times on my fender before I took it out) and put that in my warwick. The sound is fantastic. Obviously it give more volume than my rotosound (not alot but very noticeable). More punch, brightness and lot more growl too.

So i was wondering is the rotosound string not really good. Even they are new it sound nothing like the warwick string.

Look like warwick string is the way to go for my corvette. I've not try DR lo Rider or High Beam yet but i know they are good because i used them on my fender jazz.

Look like i will stay away from rotosound from now on.

I tried warwick strings on my old corvette (now sold) a couple of times, as they were among the cheapest you could find. Don't think I ever tried the black label though, only the red. I think they sounded ok for a short while, but they died IMO rather quickly. The worst thing was however their feel: It felt like the strings were covered with sand paper...

Then I stuck to elixirs for five years, and now I actually have flats on both of my basses.

I ordered a set of them way back when i ordered a new can of wax, they where alright i couldn't complain. They did seem to compliment the bass, and i liked the rough feel.
