My Thumb is currently strung up with 7-8 month old DR High Beams, and I'm liking them. I might change it in one, or two months.
Anyway, have fun.

I have been thinking about trying DR High Beams on the Thumb hoping to get a little more punch and/or volume from the bass.
Anyone use the SS High Beams that likes them? |

If I go too light, will it effect my "punch"?

| | | | I've been using the Medium-Lights and have been quite happy with how they sound and how they play.
My local store were out of Hi-Beams last time I changed over, so I tried a set of Lo-Rider Med-Heavy, and were seriously disappointed with them. Rough on the fingers, rough on the frets and lack the tonal definition I get from the Hi-Beams.

The taper core fits the b string saddle without modification, which is a plus for me.
I would recommend them for ERB 'Wicks without hesitation.

Dean Markley Blue Steel strings were pretty nice as well. Anyway, I'd assume if you have a Warwick bass, you might as well use Warwick strings on it. |

Currently on the 'vette and the Streamer are Circle K Strings. I'd put them fairly close to Black Labels, but a bit smoother with more clarity, especially on the low end (even though the Black Label B string is pretty good). |

I currently use TI jazz flats on my Fortress Flashback with the 2-piece bridge, and at the moment have med-light DR Nickel Lo-Riders on my Flashback with the 2Tek bridge. I am considering swapping the strings though! |

I just got a Corvette 5, and the guy I got it from chiseled away the channel a little to fit a standard string. He thought only Warwick strings fit it, not realizing you could uses tapers. |
