| Washburn RB2500 / EB Cobalts Hello again everyone. It's been a while. Long post and sorry bout that.
Last summer I got my hands on a Washburn RB2500 fiver for peanuts. Overall, the bass was in great shape. But the strings were around 3 years old with heavy play.
Trying to find confirmation on what strings would fit it, being a 34" scale, was hard to do. The ones I found confirmation on, were not strings I had any interest in or my local GC didn't carry them. (Of course not, why would they!)
So I went to my local GC. This was about 6 months ago mind you. After asking 3 or 4 people what they had that would fit, I finally got an answer from someone saying that the new Cobalts should fit it.
Well, the Washy needed a new pickup too (long story). I wasn't able to get one until last month and finally put it in tonight (Nordy mm5.2 - another story). Got the strings out...low and behold...they do in fact fit. Thickest part of the B passes through nut by about 5mm. (rough eyeball estimate).
Just wanted to post this for anyone else that may need strings for one of these. |
