Cool Weedwacker Strings

Sign in to disble this ad
I have an electric upright fretless which I use for jazz, and I'm thinking of trying a set of weedwacker strings off eBay. Has anyone tried these, and like to give their opinions? I've also been thinking about the nylon wrapped Fender roundwound, but I've got a 5 string strung with the high C instead of the low B, and I've been having trouble getting the right high string. Comments? Recommendations?
Thanks!

If you meant he 9120's, they are round wounds, wrapped with nylon tape.

the only consistant issue I have encountered is buzz from incomplete grounding. You may have to modify (add to ) existing grounding.

I think........if that was what you meant. They are not at all like weedwhacker line......IMHO

Yeah, unless you have a piezo the weedwackers will be worthless. As a matter of fact, I think they're worthless period. I put a set on my URB and took them off after a couple of days.

pickups

Hi

I've got Fender Samarium noiseless pickups. Does anyone have any suggestions for what would be the best strings to get closest to that jazz bass sound? It's an upright electric fretless.

Thanks
