I've strung a set of LaBella Flatwounds through body.
So far, the bass hasn't exploded.....

The world didn't end and I'm giddy over my flouting of their authority.
Mum's the word.

The Inquisition has yet to knock on my door. However, small dogs and children run away in fear when I walk down the street, and I no longer have a reflection. I think the tradeoff was worth it.

Just sayin.......... | Many reasons, mainly so that the windings near the ball are far out of the way of the saddle, which is important for me, as with my setup, the saddles are very far back.
It also ment that all the winding around the tuning posts had silks, which LaBella said was necessary, on the pack, and it didn't mention problems with string through.
Also, suprisingly, very suprisingly, the sustain noticably increaced. Quote:

Are the La Bellas long scale long enough for most 34" through bridge basses? |
