What is the best coated string?

Hi,
I currently have a set of Elixir Polywebs on my fretless.I don't play it much. I think the set has been on the bass for 3 years and now they seem to have died.I still have one set that i will put on but I hear they are not making the polys anymore.I'm wondering if the technology has been improved and if there is a better longer lasting coated string on the market now.

Gimmeeagig, you don't ask for much doya? I get about 6 months out of my polys and am plenty happy with them!
