What style of music do you play? Pink on black would be ideal for Emo, black on black for Gothic, Red on black for Progressive, green on black for Alternative IMO.

What are the tension of these like by the way. I quite like the idea of coloured strings but they on come in 45's. I use Warick black label 40's on my Warick and Roto Billy Sheehan 43 - 110's on my OLP traben (loosely based on a PJ type bass).

I know the black labels are quite high tension, if the DR's are softer, I might be able to get away with them.

I find that Hi beams are higher tension than the Extralifes. The Fat beams are about the same as ELs IMO.

personally... i'm using the red ones on my black bass... they look wonderful (i think)... and they're a lot darker red than i thought they would be (i had been using black strings... but decided i wanted some colour instead.)

i think i'll just be switching back and forth between the two colours on tour when i have to change strings.

Red devils look sweet as do BB's. If you have bad eyes I don't recommend it over a dark fingerboard. My teacher complained that eh couldn't see the strings well.

I meant to add, are the low B strings taper core. I don't particalularly spend an inordinate amount on strings (which lets face it, these aren't a cheap set of strings) if I have to take a pair of pliers to them to get them in my warwick's bridge.

When I get my Lakland (Black, with maple board) I'm going hot pink.

I play metal and experimental solo stuff. Does it fit visually? Who cares.
