I have got an old set of strings (Elixer Lights), that i want to use for soemthing useful (read: cool). I saw a guy at Summerfest (Milwaukee, Wisconsin) who made some pretty cool jewlery out of them. I was wondering if anyone here has done anything like that.
FWIW, a google search doesnt warrant many results about creating the stuff. |

Some repair folk use lengths of old string as files and feeler gauges.

My girlfriend tried to sew em on a bag, but they didnt stay long..
In these days off saving the enviroment, there should be something better to use em for.. (can they be recycled the same way as Metal cans and glas maby?)
Ill be glad to donate em to someone who might be needing them. |

Put 'em back on the bass. Most strings stink for the first 2-6 months they're installed. Flats just get better with age. My oldest strings were installed in 1972.
Failing that, post in the for sale thread and give them to someone who likes old strings - let them pay the postage.

Seems like an awesome idea. I haven't changed my stings since I saw it, but it's on my to-do list when I do.

Not very creative in the art sense, but practical enough to get the job done for a few hours
