Either rounds or bright flats (like D'Addario Chromes). Remember that flats don't have the bright snappy attack that rounds have.

The strings that came on it. Um... they're roundwounds... and uh... they've got black wrapping on the ends. And there's five of them. And I like them.

I use Labella Deep Talkin' Flats on all my passive basses, D'Addario Chromes are my second choice

TI Flats or SIT Power Flats...as if there weren't enough other thoughts on the matter. For they style you're playing, flats would do it for me. However, Ernie ball Hybrids or super slinkies are great strings too, especially once they get broke in.

Sounds like Fender Stainless Steel Roundwounds.

they are not to shabby, ive used them on my jazz and been very happy.

Right now im using Ernie Ball Slinkys, but im going to spring on some DR Fatbeams whenever I see a set. I hear good things about them and DR have very high quality strings.

Rotosound Swing bass on my Status/Nordstrand/J-Retro custom, active, "modern" Jazz bass (my #1 instrument for most gigs)

Rotosound Swing bass on my Geddy (nice passive Jazz with that 70's vibe)

Rotosound flats on my MIM Jazz - I keep this bass just to have one around strung with flats for the "thump"

Dean Markley Fretmasters or Rotosound Solo bass on my fretless Jazz. Both bright, but a little smoother than ordinary rounds, ideal for fretless IMO.

Been using DR Hi-Beams for ages. Getting some Slinky's for cheap so I'll give them a shot!

Dean Markley flats. They were free and actually are pretty good for an old school funk machine.

Another vote for TI Jazz Flats here. Work nicely on passive Fenders.
