Cool What Gauge Strings for E to E Six String?

Sign in to disble this ad
Good morning to you all!

Can anyone tell me what I should use to string a bass from E to E - so tuned as a "Regular" guitar, but one octave down on a 34" scale bass?

The usual six string sets are, typically 32 to130 - but that is for low B up to C.

Thanks,

Stompbox.

You could buy a 7-string set and discard/give away/sell the low B. The C and F strings are usually quite high tension-wise, so they will fair better detuned a half-step.

Additionally, you could buy a 4-string set and find an additional ~.022 and ~.032 string.
