What kind of flatwounds for a G&L SB-2?

Sign in to disble this ad
I'm new to the flatwound scene.....used them in the 60's and hated them... I was only sixteen and the bass was probably set up poorly .BUT,...I tried a bass that had flats on them and WOAH...loved the sound. I just recently acquired a G&L SB-2 and was wondering what brand and what type flats to use, as in nickle or steel? Any help or advice would be greatly appreciated. Thanks

I liked GHS Precision Flatwounds when I had an SB-2. Tons of growl and volume, yet smooth and subtle when you need it and lay back on your right hand.
