What kind of life can I expect out of Tapewounds?

Fender tapewounds on my fretless are about 8 years old and in good shape. As far as I'm concerned they're good until you wear the tape off.

After playing on them for a little while they seem sturdier then I had thought. Love the tone. We shall see how the break in and lifespan goes.

They last forever.

My dad had a set on his Precision bass from the late 70's until I took them off sometime around 2006. So, twenty five plus years. They were GHS tapes. They sounded fine.
