 What kind of strings am I playing?

Hey!
Well, even though I've been playing for a little less than a year, I still don't know all the difference between strings. I've only changed my strings twice.
1 time because I broe both my E and D string, and when I got my new 5 string. When I got the new 5 String Ibanez SR305, I decided to buy some Rotosound strings, as I had on my Thunderbird, since they worked pretty well! (Exept that I thought they were very hard, and almost cut through my fingers, even though I play for about 2-3 hours everyday!) After I tried my Friends FEnder Jazz, I've been obsessed with the Fender sound, and I've been trying to get that sound, and since that I've been thinking that my bass sounded... too.. empty!
When I was try to find the best sound I could get, I actually tried to switch back my strings, to the factory Ibanez Strings, and now I actually think my bass sounds amazing!
Does anyone have a clue what kind of strings they are? They have a much better feel than Rotosounds in my oppinion! Detail would be good, I really don't know all the words for the different kinds of strings yet! |
