On my Carvin AC-50, I am using the Thomastik Acousti-Core, Nylon core 5 string set.
On my Modulous Genesis, I am using DR Sunbeams or DR Black Beauties - 45 - 125. I also use the DR Red Devils and NEON Orange for specialty situations and during outdoor, Summertime gigs.

Started tuning down to flat D a couple of years ago, didnt really like the sound of the Ernie Ball all of a sudden for some reason.. So I just ordered my first pair of Dr LO-RIDERS 50-110. A little afraid that they might be to heavy for me, but I'm hoping since I tune down whole a step that they will be just perfect. |

| | | | I like the D'Addario Half Rounds. They sound like round wounds but feel like flats! You can even slap with them! Best of all, they won't eat your frets like steel round wounds often do. |

| | | | My Fender's are strung with either DR Hi-Beams (MIA Deluxe Precision and Aerodyne Precision) (.50-.110) or Rotosound Steve Harris Signature (MIA Standard Jazz).
The ESP Forest-STD-SL5 is strung with DR SS Lo-Riders (.50/.70/.90/.110/.130)
My Ibanez BTB's are strung with DR Fat-Beams and the SR's with either Hi-Beams or Fat Beams.

Hahahahaa.. After age 43, I shifted to the DR 40 gauge set. Im attmepting to move back up to 45's, simply because my Modulus Genesis 5 and one of my Devon basses necks and pickups that are beggiing for more string girth. We'll see how it goes. :-)

| | | | Flatwounds are where its at! Thomastik Jazz Bass Flatwounds .045-.105. After I went from rounds to flats I never went back and still can't quite figure out why most bass players use roundwound strings at all. I get a deep fat tone with plenty of pop for slappin'. I also feel I have more control over my tone in general using flats. |

Just got a new Ibanez AEB5E, which currently has the stock bronze strings. I'm thinking I'll probably order D'Addario Tapewounds for it, but I'm also considering Chromes (my favorite metal string) or Half Rounds (never tried, but intriguing.)
