My Custom 4 came standard with Elixir Nanowebs and they sound great. Not ony that, they lasted about 2 years before they started to die. I'm sticking with these.

Heres a chart I made for myself of how diff strings sound

THICKER- heavier sound
THINNER--fast and bendy

NICKEL-warm
STAINLESS STEEL-bright

Roundwound-ridges cause sqeaking
Flatwound-Less bright, last longer

I owned a Schector C4, and one of the Stilletos/Extremes. I can't remember, they all sound the same. I really wanted to own a Schector. I like the detailing and proportion of their basses. In the end, it just wasn't for me.

Based on the type of music you'll be playing, I would definitely recommend Elixirs. Your hands will fly up an down the neck, and the strings can last up to a few years. Depending how picky you are.

As for producing multiple sounds that will come from the adjustments on your bass settings, or your preamp.
