What is the most you have ever spent on flatwound strings ? I just spent $65 on a set of TI's that are sized for Hofner basses.

Heh, go price a set of guts for an upright bass then come back with tales of sticker shock.

For bass guitar I blew about $50 or so on a set of TI's once. I still have the strings and can't bring myself to get rid of them even though they didn't do a damned thing for me. They just cost too much to part with.

Is that the short scale set? If so, how do you find the monster E string?

And to answer the question, I believe the most I have paid is $60US for TIs.

Currently I would have to pay $69 Canadian, plus about $7 for delivery charges for a set of T.I. JF 344s if I got them sent to me to arrive the next day. It's easier and cheaper than driving an hour or more each way to the Big Smoke (Toronto) where I could probably get them for $65 in a store. Our $ is about $.82 US I believe.

The first set I bought over 10 years ago cost me $69 Canadian. That's the most I've ever paid. But I got over 8 years of use from that set, so that worked out to about $9 a year. Pretty cheap if you ask me.

About €60 for a set of Rotosound Steve Harris flats. Those were expensive, I could buy a microwave oven for that money. (No, I don't have one and don't need one either..)

Too bad they were the worst flats I've tried so far when broken in. When new, they were great.
