What new strings sound like old Rotosound Swing Bass strings?

Sign in to disble this ad
I have an old old set of Rotosound Swing Bass Roundwounds on my mid-70's P-bass, and they need to be replaced. They are so old I don't know when I replaced them, they could be 10 years old or more. I like the way the Rotos sound and feel after you get rid of the excessive brightness, after the first week or two. Is there a set of strings that sounds like that out of the package?

If I missed another similar discussion I'd appreciate a link.

Just buy the real things and work them in yourself.

The DR Lo Riders retain a sort of week old roto sound to my ears for a while, I don't know about 10 year old.
