The stock strings, according to the Squier page, are 45-100 Fender 7250ML. Do they have black silk on both ends?

Now, Fender's guitars sometimes are strung at the factory with different strings than what the website says (Fender Japan is the best example).

Mine came with d'addarios too.

I remember a recent thread wherein it was discovered most of the American Classic Vibe owners has basses that came with d'addarios.

Mine too came with D'addarios, as indicated by the colored ball ends

The new Fender line has colored ball ends like D'Addario. They are colored Fender colors (like the green is sea foam green). Rumor has it that they are D'Addarios, But neither Fender or D'Addario are not making any comments on it.
The strings, depending on the model, are like the older line, but often have differences. I found the 7250s to be a little brighter and more metallic than the originals.
The the new phosphor bronze ABG strings have less tension than the D'Addario set, and are not as succeptable to finger noise like the D'Addario phosphors. So if they are made by D'Addario, they probably are made to Fender's new specs, as hasbeen has been stating.

Thanks for that info. The strings on my CV 60's P are very metallic sounding, I find it unpleasant. I've used D'addarios before and never had that issue. This info explains it I think. Maybe the string size has something to do with it.

I am going to change those stock strings out, I really don't like that metallic clanking that I can't make go away.

I put an old set of flats on my CV 50's P, and they sound pretty cool. I am not sure which flats they are...

CV 60s strings

I got my sonic blue CV 60s P-Bass in December of last year also with the D'addarios (type) strings with the colored ball ends.

Setting the action helped to eliminate some of the "clanky" sound, however, the real change came when I replaced the stock strings with a set of GHS Precision Flats (45-105) set M3050 Medium.

The bass has sounded great ever since the string change with no "clanks" "buzz" or any other type of fret "noise" at all.

Just bought some Fender 5250XL's. While they are now made in the U.S. instead of Mexico (must be D'Addarios - G ball end is green too) they no longer have silk wrapping on the ends which I prefer.
Anybody know if LaBella uses silk wrapping?
