Hi,
Im after getting a set of rounds for one of my basses as I have most of them strung with flats at the moment and want something completely different, can someone recommend me a set , im after something really bright and with plenty of snarl. Some strings that have ear piercing treble that will shatter glass. I have tried roto's but find them inconsistent (some sets very bright, some sets not). Any suggestions? |

My Opinion though........
Keep in mind, its called a bass.....not a treble........ |

And yes, even though it's called "Bass," adding mids and treble to a certain degree can enhance the sound quite a bit (imo/ime), depending on your preference and playing context. |

I use the Pro Steels on my 4 String,
Sadowsky Stainless Steels on my 5.
Both of these sound great! Very consistant pack after pack! |

Ya a 3 pack for my 5er is only like $22 and I have my bass specifically set up for that 45 set. I'm also very regimental about the break in period and would never use a new set same day for a gig. I make it work for me because I go through strings pretty regularly and it's the only way I can keep it cost feasible since I have no endorsement deals ( hint hint to all concerned )

glass breaking - no problem.
btw, if you are just looking for fret-rattle try using heavier strings which will have a lower signal-to-noise ratio (a thicker string makes more noise on the frets)
