What string to use

I am building a Jazz on steriods. It's a MIM body, Modulus neck, Badass II bridge and is being routed to accept EMG DC40 pickup with the BTC preamp. I usually go with steel but given that this bass will have some bright materials would you all go with the nickle?

Anyone??? I thought the SS would be too bright. Aren't nickle considered to be more subdued in the high end? Help a guitard out lol.
