What strings?

Sign in to disble this ad
I have a Schecter Custom-4 and my old Squier P-Bass

the strings that came with the Schecter are great, and of course the Squier not-so-much

first of all, does anyone use these:

second, is there any strings i can put on a Squier P-Bass to make it sound decent, even though its a low-quality bass

third, for my Schecter, what strings would be good if i play alot of Jazz/Funk, so i want something that can be upright-bassy but also give me some good slap/pop sound ... i dont want it TOO much on the upright-side, since i always have my upright i can play on

thanks

Had a set of D'Addario Half Rounds 50-110 on a cheap bass. Felt like hell - I really couldn't stand the tension. Strong big bottom with just a little zing. A 40-100 set would feel and sound OK - thinner strings tend to be less bass-heavy.
GHS strings are my fauvorite. I prefer Bassics because they are cheap and awesome - very good balance of defined lows, warm mids and not too bright top.
Boomers are known to be almost the same but with silky ends.
