Ok,

i have a MIJ Ibanez SDGR 5er with EMG J`s in it.

I`ve tried DR`s lo-riders - i LOVED the tension, but not the sound - it`s a bit too smooth and dark for me.

So, I`m looking for high-tension stainless steel strings with bright, early faith no more type of sound.

Any recomendations? Will Dr Hi-beams do it?

Hi-beams are brighter than lo-riders, but they also have lesser tension. fat-beams are somewhere inbetween. I don't know if they're brighter than lo-riders though. EBS nothern lights strings should be really bright from what I hear, and so should D'addario Prisms - both are hex-core like the lo-riders, so they might have a more similar tension than the roundcore hi-beams and fat-beams.

Good luck!

I have to say, I love my prisms but if you want the punch and brightness with a bit more growl, checkout the Rotosound Swing 66's.
