Well my Corvette Standard should be coming anyday now, and im really feeling the pressure to get some new strings. I really want that growl. Like, i want the thing to freakin roar at you. What strings would you suggest to get the most growl?

Warwick Black Label strings are pretty growly.

I know that people love them or hate them, but I swear by TI Jazz Flats. The lower tension give you some sweet sweet growl (IMO).

Peace,
Joe

Warwick black labels are indeed pretty growly. However, I guess that DR LoRiders would send the midrange into orbit!

i have used DR lowriders Diadario Half rounds and Pro steels, and rotosound swing bass strings, but currently i am using the Ken Smith Medium Rock Masters.

I have to second the TI Jazz Flats. Mine are on my passive streamer but I'm sure they'd roar on your Corvette.

Amateur sound samples: http://www.myspace.com/trueoldscool - Check out Naughty Naughty for some isolated stuff. Just to clarify that is my German made Streamer Std. with 6 month old TI Jazz flats going through my Genz Benz head with the Tube pre cranked.

The flats will last longer. Some people on here have never changed their strings.

I love DR Low Riders for growl. I think the Hex core has something to do with it.

Lo-Riders are great! Very growly. I currently have Warwick Yellow Label on my Jazz and they are nicely growly.

I've ordered a set of TI Jazz Flats so I'll report back on how they sound. I've only heard good things about them so far.

I've had my TI Jazz Flats on for over two and a half years now. I don't plan on changing them soon. I just had a gig earlier tonight and they served me well... again.
