what strings are good.....

Im currently using Rotosounds swing bass 45. 65. 80. 105. tuned down to C-G-C-F. Im looking for a string(s) that would give me clarity and definition but keep a full bodied bass tone. Im using a spector euro bass currently and no pick through a SVT4 Pro and a SVT 8x10 cab. I have never given my strings to much thought, How much effect on your tone do the strings? Does it realy matter if your using effects anyway?

I personally suggest DRs, but then again that could be biased.
