What strings for my 6-string?

Sign in to disble this ad
Hi...I resently bought a used Yamaha TRB-6, and the strings on it are quite old i think and is very mellow in tone (are they nickel? they're kinda dark in the colour)
The tone i would like to get is a punchy mid-to a clear high...What string/brand would you reccomend?

Thanks in advance.

I just ordered some LaBella Deep Talkin Bass .029-.128's for my yamaha 6, but haven't received them yet. Right now I've got D'Addario's, and they're OK, but I got them a local music store, and they cost too much. I'll keep you posted re: the LaBella's

I really liked my DR Hi-Beams on my 6, and they have a number of other "flavors" - Lo-Riders, Fatbeams, etc.

The DR Fatbeams sound great on my Modulus Q6.
