What strings are put on epiphone basses at the factory?

More specifically, what strings come standard (put on at the factory) on les paul special basses? I bought a new one and I absolutely love the sound of these strings...they sound really metallic-y and bright with a nice fat thump. I'd kill to have these strings on my other basses. Anyone know where or what site I can buy them from?

I asked Epiphone/Gibson tech support the same question yesterday regarding the T-bird.
the answer: Epiphone Bass Strings (45-105)

Glad you like them - maybe they've improved drastically.

Epi makes nice wood, filled with crap electronics. I have modified a 5- string Les Paul special with emg's and BQC, and a T-bird with nordstrand big splits and a supertone bridge. Massive improvement! I love that T-bird! I wish Epi would up their game a bit in the electronics department - or maybe not; then they won't be so cheap to gut and upgrade.

Oh, and I forgot to mention the HOLLOW plastic nuts they use. Seriously? How much could that possibly save?!?

Yeah, the wood is very nice mahogany, the electronics are decent, nothing to rave over, but I won't be replacing them anytime soon. I'm thinking about getting a new bridge..not sure which one to use. The nut that is on here is plastic, but it's not hollow, atleast I don't think. I think it's a very very good bass for 300 dollars, came out of the box setup and brand new. Just needs a fret job to eliminate first fret buzz (Ugh)
Actually, the bridge seems to be pretty good...there are two qualms I have about this bass. One: Mother of pearl block inlays or fake pearl block inlays would make this bass SO much better aesthetically. (spelling?) The finish on the back of the neck (same as the rest of the body) collects grease and finger prints...very annoying. I don't like how greasy it gets after an hour or two of playing.

Don't listen to all the BS about this bass. There are no mods needed to enjoy this bass. None at all. For $300 it's a lot of fun.

One thing to note about the stock strings: I'm not sure what they're coated with, but they left a greyish residue all over my fingers after a few minutes of playing. That residue will get transferred to the neck and body just through playing. After you change strings you should see that greasy crap disappear.

Enjoy the bass.

Yeah, I noticed that when I was playing it at the store after they cut the box open. I don't really want to change the strings though because I really like the sound. And yeah, my body is trans black so it shows all of the residue/finger prints/grease
If I do change the strings, what strings should I put on it? I'd like something that sounds as close as possible to the stock epiphone strings

Get the Hipshot Supertone bridge. Best investment you can make for an Epi/Gibson bass!

I just put a set of Ernie Ball Hybrid Slinkys (45-105) on mine. Pretty similar to stock, but with more low-end. They also feel like there's less tension on them than the stock strings.
Pretty reasonably priced strings at $20 US or so.

I'm interested...can you tell me how this bridge significantly helps the T-bird? And/Or...maybe explain the deficiencies in the Epi/Gibson stock bridges.

Thanks.
