What strings should i think about buying for my SR905

Ive been using D'addarios on my Ibanez and a couple of other bass's for a while now. Ive grown unhappy with them anymore and am looking at DR or Ernie Ball strings.. I play mostly death metal stuff and im not sure at what i should consider. Anyone give me an idea of what might work best for me?

Im thinking about grabbing a rack tuner to neaten up my rig a bit more and im not too familiar with those just yet. some ideas on that front would be killer too!!>!!

Dunno about death metal but I like the DR coated strings. Black is metal, no?

black/death/thrash - kinda the same jist! Just want something thats going to sound clear in the mids and brutal low.. I guess im not sure what gauge strings to use either

what D's are on them I play Death Metal and get fantastic Results with Pro Steels
get a good cryptopsy sound too

aRun, what did you end up picking up? I've got an SR905, and I also grew dissatisfied with the D'Addario nickels. I switched to DR High Beams, wanting something bright. I'm in a Power/Thrash/Progressive Metal band and we're tuned down 2 steps (A Standard on a 5 string), so the heaviest gauge was recommended. Are you using a pick or fingers?

Let me know how it worked out. The 905 is a good metal bass, especially for the money.

I was in a band that tuned 1 1/2 steps down and I play a 5 I had my local shop order ghs 140, 125,100,85,55 . And I only had one guitarist so I got a really thick deep sound
