What are the strings with thet purple yarn?

what are those?they have purple yarn windings at the top to protect the tuners.i just got a 6 string ibanez btb to add to my btb collection but they are very very very light strings and cannot figure out what they are.are they rotosound?I believe Ken smith strings are purple to arent they?

D'addario Chromes are also purple for anyone else who cares.

Didn't they used to be blue?

Last set I had had blue silks.

Speaking of BTB i played one for the first time today...it was absolutely amazing. I think when I take the 6-string plunge imma get a BTB. I played a 5'er today and it was pretty amazing, strings felt like silk.

Didnt notice. Felt good though. they might have, didnt really look up there. I was amazed at the feel.

You sure about that? None of the SIT strings I've ever seen had silked ends.

yeah, the stock strings on ibanez btb556 are elixers...

Ken Smith Tapercore Steels have purple silk. The Smith Burner Nickels I tried awhile back had orange silk.
