Still haven't found a good string solution for my fretless playing. Been using Roto's but they still aren't quite right.

I'm currently using the strings my Stagg BC300 came with.

(Anyone know what strings they are?)

Elixers on one of 'em. DR Extra's on the other (Red Devils, to be exact.... I think that makes the difference).

+1, I have Elixers on both of mine. Can't see using anything else.

SIT Rock Bright Stainless on my main one and SIT Powerflats on another.

I had a set of Elixers briefly, I hated them.

D'Addario half-rounds on my Fender Jazz fless. Sometimes I love em, sometimes I don't. They're very low tension and sound very bright. Not sure if I'm going to keep using them, I may go back to Fender flats.

D'Addario Chromes. But I think I'm going to switch them to Rotosound 77s or TI Jazz Flats in the hope for more "mwah", and a better walking tone. I'm guessing the TI's will be the winner, but I dislike their looseness.

TI Jazz Flats on the Pedulla T-Bolt 5, and Lakland Osborn flats on the Lakland D55-94. The TI's are very bright and full of life. They're kind of slinky, but unbelieveable tone. The Lakland flats sound more like flatwounds ... plenty of thump, but you have to EQ in a lot of mid to get any growl out of them.

At present, Dean Markley Bass Blasters - nickel roundwounds, gauge .040-.060-.080-.100. I also have some "store brand" strings that I bought in bulk at JustStrings.com that I have yet to try.

I'd tried a compression-wound string (DR Nickel Lo-Riders), but they're just a bit too mellow for my taste. The rounds are a little livelier, yield more mwah...
