Question What Strings are you using on your Squier Active Jazz V

I am just curious as to what strings owners of these basses are using. They come with Fender 8350's but I am leaning towards my usual Lo-Riders for my new bass. I would like to know your brand and your gauge.

Are you able to order on-line? L&M won't bring in a set of DR's with a .130 B. The .125 B stock string seems pretty good but drove me to be curious about the gauge most people are using with this bass. I am curious how the other .125's are holding up.

I have Low Riders on mine and I love them!!! You might try the Fat Beams for more zing. I have them on my 4 string jazz basses and love them as well.

I think that is the way I will go. Are you using the .130 or the .125 B?

Prosteels

I'm using Prosteels on mine. It is my first experience with these strings. The original set that I bought had a bad B-string.

I couldn't get D'addario's return authorization to work, so I ended up buying a replacement from JustStrings. (decided I wanted to go a little heavier anyway for B at 34") Also, I prefer a .060 to a .065 on my D string so I replaced that at the same time.

I ended up with .045 .060 .080 .100 .135T

I'm now happy with the guages/tensions in this set.

This is a very bright sound, which is not exactly what I'm used to, but it is what I was shooting for when I bought this bass and these strings.

I went with Hi-Beams, .045 to .125, and I am quite please with the result. I would have preferred Lo-Riders but they didn't have any in stock. Next time I will get the Lo-Riders as the Hi Beams are a little too zingy for my tastes. Still it sounds good and cuts like a Jazz bass should.

I now got Bass Boomers with a 130 B on, fantastic, still want to try the Lowriders sometime.
